Day 2: Athens Private Mythology Tour for Families & Walk in the Ancient Athens Hills

Discover the highlights of Athens’ ancient history the Acropolis Hill and the Acropolis Museum, on a private guided tour especially geared towards families. Together with a kid-friendly guide and while listening to myths and stories, view Parthenon complete with its decorations and even step inside to see the giant golden ivory statue of the goddess Athena! Using an AR tablet or VR goggles, you can visualize all Acropolis temples and statues as they were 2000 years ago. As you walk around the heritage site you can enjoy the temples that has not survived through the centuries, like the temple of Zeus, the temple of Diana the 9m statue of Athena Promakhos and many others. Stand by the Parthenon Priest or the Priestess of Nike temple while she is pouring olive oil on the altar!

As it gets warmer, it’s time to visit the Acropolis Museum! After you warm up, you will race around the arena in the Panathenaic Stadium, also known as Kallimarmaro meaning fine marble, as it is the only one in the world made entirely of marble.

Next, wander through the National Garden, a vision of the first Queen of Greece Amalia who loved trees and flowers to explore the city’s verdant corners! Was there an ingenious jug that could serve water, wine or both?
